This book shows how the view that the kingdom of God is destined to grow to a place of dominance in the earth before the return of Christ was a key part of Puritan theology and the dominant eschatalogical view until the end of the 19th century. It therefore puts the current dispensational ideas into their correct jonny-come-lately context.Edmund H. Broadbent: The Pilgrim Church
This book traces the practice of NT church through the past 2000 years. Broadbent was a Brethren (and his does like to point out how often the term Brethren was used through history) and therefore a primitivist; however, those of a restorationist persuasion will find this interesting and encouraging stuff.Ken Untener: The Practical Prophet: Pastoral Writings
